If you're comparing a single-coil soapbar to a humbucker, then things couldn't be more different. What the DiMarzio DP154 DLX Plus pickup manages to do is build a tiny bridge between the two. Set up for the bridge position, this soapbar-style humbucker takes some of the character of a standard soapbar single-coil to give this humbucker a more clean and airy, open sound.
